The scheme for the residential development on the outskirts of the inner city of St. Gallen integrates harmonically with the new apartment buildings in the existing urban fabric while at the same time guaranteeing a maximum exploitation of the site. The position and form of the buildings is characterised by their hillside situation and their orientation to the north. The implementation of the scheme in stages had to be integrated in the design process.
The first two floors are dedicated to commercial use and small two-story studios. In the upper floors three apartments are arranged around a central core. The apartments are situated in the corners of the building guaranteeing an optimum exposure.
