Together with Salewski Nater Kretz Architektur und Städtebau, LINEA landscape architecture and Barbara Emmenegger Soziologie & Raum, BHSF Architekten participated in a participatory test planning for the Felsenrein site in Zurich Seebach.

The process was carried out jointly by the Stiftung Alterswohnungen der Stadt Zürich (SAW), the Stiftung Wohnungen für kinderreiche Familien (SFW) and the Gesundheitszentren für das Alter (GFA). The aim of a future new housing estate is not only to provide sustainable housing for the elderly and high-quality densification, but also to bring older people and families with children closer together – the keyword being “generational living”. In addition, the new housing estate should be well networked with the neighborhood.

The collaborative and creative process, accompanied by Kornelia Gysel, was characterized by a participatory procedure with several workshops. Together, a picture of the future and a test planning report were developed, which now form the basis for further development.
