In the coming years, a new and attractive urban quarter is to be developed on a previously undeveloped site owned by multiple landowners. Given the high demand for housing, a sustainable and resource-efficient approach to planning is being pursued, serving as a framework for future development. Depending on the type of development, the site could accommodate either around 170 houses for approximately 600 residents, or a more densely built quarter with roughly 1,800 apartments for up to 3,000 inhabitants. Implementation will involve various stakeholders and therefore requires a shared urban planning and design framework that creates identity and cohesion within the quarter. The goal is an ecologically and socially balanced neighbourhood with green spaces, good mobility, diverse housing typologies, and seamless integration into the existing surroundings.
