Heike Biechteler studied architecture at the University of the Arts (UdK) Berlin and worked from 2002 in various architecture firms in Berlin and later in Zurich, until she decided to pursue an academic career at the Institute of Architecture at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2012. There, she initiated the Lucerne Talks symposiums along with their related publications, a nationwide, cross-institutional discourse on architectural education. Since 2017, she has been the Secretary General of the Swiss Architecture Council. In 2019, she completed a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Curating at ZHDK, and since November 2024, she has been part of BHSF, responsible for publications and discourse.
