In an apartment building from the 19th century, situated on the slopes above the Main Station, the attic was extended to house a three-room apartment.

The limitedness of the attic is countered by a flowing openness of the plan. Generous connections between the more public rooms create breadth, opening up an alternative route through the flat, while skylights bring light also into the middle of the flat.

A large dormer window that can be fully opened offers a unique view over the city centre of Zurich, which can also be enjoyed from the roof terrace. Since the building is mostly in its original condition, the existing materials are  matched by a haptically and formally rich materialization and detailing.
