The two apartment buildings near Zurich’s Goldbrunnenplatz date back to the 1930s. They bear witness to a moderately expressionist early modernist style and are among the few perimeter block buildings from this era that have been preserved largely true to the original. By 2026, both listed properties will be carefully renovated, the roof will be extended and balconies will be added on the courtyard side.
The building services installations, bathrooms and kitchens will be renewed and all interior surfaces will be repaired. The apartments on the top floor will also be extended vertically. New openings in the existing slab will provide the attic apartments with new gallery spaces above the living rooms.
