The goal of the urban design ideas competition was to find urban and architectural ideas how to use the structures of the barracks in the swiss town of Frauenfeld, which will be vacated by the military in 2018. The design works with the qualities of the existing buildings and suggests the barracks as a place for a historical museum, a hotel and a small conference centers. The court of the barracks remains free. As Frauenfeld is located in a very central position, the adjacent parade grounds should be developed in a high, urban density.
