BHSF, in collaboration with Klötzli Friedli landscape architects, wins the design competition for the conversion and extension of an existing office building from the 1980s in Muri near Bern. To populate the previously uninhabited area between the service cluster, the highway, and the forest, we have developed an introverted living environment with new apartment types, and a variety of communal spaces for the new residents. At the same time, the iconic form language of the existing building is respected with minimal intervention and complemented by a no less expressive architectural layer in bright red.
